A dedicated extensionoff a PBX (Private Branch eXchange) unit without “CallWaiting” can be used with your facsimile unit. Keytelephone systems are not recommended becausethey send nonstandard signals to individualtelephones for ringing and special codes, which maycause a facsimile error.C. Power RequirementsThe power outlet should be a three-prong grounded receptacle(Single or Duplex). It should be independent from copiers, heaters,air conditioners, or any electric equipment that is thermostaticallycontrolled. The rated value is 115 volts and 15 amperes. The CA11Amodular jack should be relatively close to the power outlet tofacilitate installation.Notice• This product meets the applicable Industry Canada technicalspecifications.• The Ringer Equivalence Number is an indication of themaximum number of devices allowed to be connected to atelephone interface. The termination of an interface may consistof any combination of devices subject only to the requirementthat the sum of the RENs of all the devices does not exceed five.• The REN of this product is 1.0.• Before installing this equipment, users should ensure thatit is permissible to be connected to the facilities of the localtelecommunications company. The equipment must also beinstalled using an acceptable method of connection. In somecases, the company’s inside wiring associated with a single lineindividual service may be extended by means of a certifiedconnector assembly (telephone extension cord). The customershould be aware that compliance with the above conditionsmay not prevent deterioration of service in some situations.• Repairs to certified equipment should be made by anauthorized Canadian maintenance facility designated bythe supplier.
