61Maintenance and CleaningFilter prevents dust from accumulating on the optical elements inside the projector. Should the Filterbecome clogged with dust particles, it will reduce cooling fans’ effectiveness and may result in internalheat buildup and adversely affect the life of the projector. If a “Filter warning” icon appears on thescreen, replace the Filter immediately. Replace the filter by following the steps below.CAUTION- Do not operate the projector with the filterremoved. Dust may accumulate on the opticalelements degrading picture quality.- Do not put anything into the air vents. Doing somay result in malfunction of the projector.- Do not wash the filter with water or any otherliquid Matter. Otherwise the filter may bedamaged.RECOMMENDATIONWe recommend avoiding dusty/smokyenvironments when you operate theprojector. Usage in these environmentsmay cause poor image quality.When using the projector under dusty orsmoky conditions, dust may accumulateon a lens, LCD panels, or optical elementsinside the projector degrading the quality of aprojected image. When the symptoms aboveare noticed, contact your authorized dealer orservice center for proper cleaning.Be sure to reset the Filter counter after cleaningor replacing the filter.Press the MENU button to display theOn-Screen Menu. Use the Point ▲▼ buttonsto select Setting and then press the Point ►or the OK button.Use the Point ▲▼ buttons to select Filtercounter and then press the Point ► or theOK button.
