Using the FullRange of Features50ESetting the white balance manually will probably work betterthan auto white balance when shooting:Subjects with one dominant color, such as sky, sea or forest.Close-upsIn rapidly changing lighting conditionsIn places lit by certain types of fluorescent or mercury vaporlights.Notes:• Turn the digital zoom off (if neccessary) to set a more accurate white balance.• If the lighting conditions change, reset the white balance by first returning to theAUTO setting, and then reselecting SET.• Try to record with light from a single source. Correct white balance cannot beobtained for two types of lighting at once.• You cannot set the white balance manually when the program selector is set tothe [ (Easy Recording) program.• When the program selector is set to the [ (Easy Recording) program or thePOWER switch is set to the OFF position, the white balance setting returns tothe AUTO.• When the standby lever is set to LOCK without changing the program selector,the current white balance setting remains in the memory (except in the Negative-Positive Conversion program).
