11Wireless ConnectionInstall the SoftwareQuit all running applications before installation.•To use the machine by connecting it to a computer,software including the drivers needs to be copied(installed) to the computer's hard disk. Theinstallation process takes about 20 minutes. (Theinstallation time varies depending on the computerenvironment or the number of applications to beinstalled.)The screens below are based on Windows Vistaoperating system Ultimate Edition (hereafterreferred to as "Windows Vista") and Mac OS Xv.10.5.x.Log on as the administrator (or a member of theAdministrators group).•Do not switch users during the installation process.•It may be necessary to restart your computer during theinstallation process. Follow the on-screen instructions anddo not remove the Setup CD-ROM during restarting. Theinstallation resumes once your computer has restarted.•Mac OS 9, Mac OS X Classic environments, or Mac OS Xv.10.3.8 or earlier are not supported.•If the firewall function of your security software is turnedon, a warning message may appear that Canon software isattempting to access the network.If such a warning message appears, set the securitysoftware to always allow access.•Turn on the computer, theninsert the Setup CD-ROMinto the CD-ROM drive.If the program does not start automatically, double-click the CD-ROM icon in Computer or My Computer.When the CD-ROM contents appear, double-click MSETUP4.EXE.•Turn on the computer, then insert the Setup CD-ROM intothe CD-ROM drive.Internet connection may be required during the installation.Connection fees apply.•The setup program will startautomatically.If you are usingInternet Explorer7 or later, you canuse the Web printsoftware Easy-WebPrint EX.
