Never use an electrical transformer designed for traveling, which maydamage the battery pack.Inserting the Battery Pack and Memory CardInsert the included battery pack and a memory card (sold separately).Note that before using a memory card that is new or has been formattedin another device, you should format the memory card with this camera(=71).1 Open the cover.zz Slide the cover ( ) and open it ( ).2 Insert the battery pack.zz While pressing the battery lock in thedirection of the arrow, insert the batterypack as shown and push it in until it clicksinto the locked position.3 Check your card’s write-protectswitch and insert the memory card.zz Recording is not possible on memorycards with a write-protect switch when theswitch is in the locked position. Slide theswitch to the unlocked position.zz Insert the memory card facing as shownuntil it clicks into the locked position.zz Make sure the memory card is facing theright way when you insert it.
