5-55Troubleshooting“File not found on CD-ROM” error whenstarting the CD-ROMMenu.The program is loadedfrom the hard diskdrive.Remove the CDMENU.EXE file fromyour hard disk drive and restart the CD-ROM Menu program from the compactdisc labeled “User Software”.Cannot install CAPTusing USB port.(Windows 98/Me/2000/XP)USB class driver is notproperly installed.Perform the following steps.1) Make sure the printer is connected toyour computer using a USB cable and theprinter is turned on.2) Open the System dialog box in theControl Panel.(In Windows XP*, clickPerformance and Maintenance in theControl Panel. Performance andMaintenance folder appears. Click Seebasic information about your computer.System Properties dialog box appears.)3) Select [Device Manager] tab and doubleclick [Universal Serial Bus Controllers].For Windows 2000/XP, select [Hardware]tab and click [Device Manager] button.4) Delete ONLY the following USB classdrivers under [Universal Serial BusController];For Windows 98, select [Canon PC1200/iC D600/iR1200G], For Windows Me,[Canon CAPT USB Printer], and click[Delete] button. For Windows 2000/XP,select [USB Printing Support] or [CanonCAPT USB Printer], and uninstall fromthe [Active] menu.In case the USB class driver is displayedunder [Other device], select and deleteONLY one the following, depending on theOS you are using;[Canon PC1200/iC D600/iR1200G],[Canon CAPT USB Printer], or[Unknown].5) Close the Control Panel and unplug theUSB cable.6) Restart Windows 98/Me/2000/XP.* The procedure for Windows XP is given for Category View Mode.IMPORTANT• Never delete other devices or device drivers.
