175 Set Up Computers and SoftwareSoftware InstallationBefore InstallationThe following procedure is described using sample screens from Windows XP Professional.The screen may differ according to the operating system, as well as the type and version of the printer driver.Log on as an Administrator to install the software.Click the circled button on each screen to go to the next step.Make sure the machine is turned ON. (See “Connect Power Cord and Turn On the Machine,” on p. 7.)–––––When the User Software CD-ROM is inserted on your computer, the CD-ROM Setup screen is automatically displayed. If the CD-ROM Setup screen is not displayed, right-click the CD-ROM icon and select [Open], then double-click [MInst] ([MInst.exe]).Windows XP: Click [Start] on the Windows task bar → [My Computer] → CD-ROM icon.Windows Vista/Server 2008/7: Click [Start] on the Windows task bar → [Computer] → CD-ROM icon.Windows Server 2003: Click [Start] on the Windows task bar → [My Computer] → CD-ROM icon.Windows 2000: Double-click [My Computer] on the Windows desktop → CD-ROM icon.If the [User Account Control] dialog box appears during the procedure, click [Continue] or [Yes].If you want to use both a USB and network connection, you need to install the drivers for each connection.
