Even if you configure scannerdriver settings from [Scan Batch to File] under the [Scan] menu inCapturePerfect 3.0, a job will always be performed according to itsregistered settings. To perform duplex scanning, either change thejob setting or create another job for duplex scanning.Problem 5SolutionsIf white lines or streaks appear in scanned images.Clean both sides of the scanner glass, and the rollers (both rubberand metal). If a sticky substance such as glue or correction fluid isfound, carefully wipe with just enough pressure to clean the areawhere the lines appear. If the problem cannot be solved by cleaning, the internal glass may be scratched. Contact your local authorizedCanon dealer.Problem 6SolutionsPages are missing. When the scanner driver’s [Scanning Side] setting is [Skip BlankPage], documents with very little black may be unintentionallyskipped. Select another scan mode setting such as [Simplex] or[Duplex], or decrease the [Ratio of black pixels]. If pages areskipped due to the document double feeding, see “Problem 7Documents jam (or double-feed)”.Problem 7SolutionsDocuments jam (or double-feed).(1) Confirm that the roller is installed in the scanner according to theSetup Guide page inserted in Reference Guide. The roller is notinstalled in the scanner when shipped, and proper feeding is notpossible until it is installed. If the roller has been installedcorrectly, clean it if necessary.(2) Proper scanning may not be possible when document pagesstick together due to static electricity. Fan the documents beforeyou load them.(3) Set the feed selection lever to (Bypass), and manually feed thescanner one page at a time.Problem 8SolutionsScanned images are saved in TIFF instead of JPEG format. When the scanner driver’s [Mode] setting is [Auto Color Detection],documents detected as black and white (binary) are automaticallysaved as TIFF images, regardless of document settings. This occursbecause JPEG format does not support black and white binaryformat images. If you want to save all images in JPEG format, change the scanning [Mode] to either [Color] or [256-level Gray].Problem 9SolutionsEach scanned image of a multi-page document is saved as aseparate document.• With CaptureOnTouch, you can scan multiple pages into oneimage file when TIFF or PDF file format is selected. To do this, select [File type], click the [Detail Settings] button, and select[Save all pages as one file] in the displayed dialog box.• When you select [Scan Batch to File] from the [Scan] menu inCapturePerfect, a dialog box appears with a pull-down menu at thebottom that allows you to select [Single Page], [Multi Page (AllPages)], or [Multi Page (Specified Pages)]. If you select [SinglePage], each page of a multi-page document is saved as a separateimage file. To save multiple pages to a single image file, select[Multi Page (All Pages)] or [Multi Page (Specified Pages)].Problem 10SolutionsDocuments feed, but no scanned images are saved. When Panel-Feeding is selected as the feeding method on thescanner driver’s setting screen, after a document is fed, scanningdoes not occur until the scan button is clicked on the scan panel.Problem 11SolutionsScanned images of multiple pages cannot be saved in a singleJPEG or BMP (PICT) file.Multiple scanned images cannot be saved in a single JPEG or BMP(PICT) file. Save the images in either TIFF or PDF format.
