Troubleshooting 49✘ The PC does not recognize the scannerThe following are possible causes of the PC failing to recognize the scanner.Check each possible cause.Cause The scanner is not connected correctly.Action Check all of the SCSI cable connections between the scanner, theSCSI host adapter in the PC, and any other SCSI devicesconnected to the system.Cause The SCSI host adapter is not installed in the PC correctly.Action Refer to the instruction manual for the SCSI host adapter andinstall the SCSI host adapter in the PC correctly.Also check the following, depending on which operating systemyou are using:Windows 95/98/MeClick Start - Settings - Control Panel - System - Device Manager,and make sure that no “x” or “!” symbol appears next to the SCSIController entry.
