You can use the software applications below toperform the print service settings from the computer that you are using.• NWADMIN or PCONSOLE (Novell software applications provided withNetWare ®)z If you perform the print service settings with NWADMIN, Novell Client (theNovell NetWare® client) must be installed as the client software application.z The following procedure describes the print service settings for NetWare®. Theprocedure may be slightly different for your network environment.Types of Print ServicesBefore performing the print service settings, be sure to read the descriptionbelow then select the printer service type.z You can also NDPS as the print service for NetWare ®. If you use NDPS as the printservice, for the gateway use the Novell printer gateway provided by Novell. Thesetup procedure for NDPS is not described in this manual, so please refer to yourNetWare® instructions for details.z NDS (Novell Directory Service) and BinderyBoth NDS and Bindery are compatible. You can select either, dependingon the requirements of your network environment.z Queue server mode and remote printer modeQueue server mode and remote printer mode are both compatible.• Queue server modeWhen queue server mode is used, the hardware and software for otherprint servers is not required because queue server mode contains all theprint server functions. In NDS queue server mode (NDS PServer), theNDS print server is used to print. In the bindery queue server mode(Bindery PServer), the bindery print server is used to print. In the queueserver mode, one NetWare ® license is required for every networkinterface board used in the network.
