Activating this functionthrough the OBUI, as described in the previoussection, will operate the flashers for the set period oftime. If this activates the flashers properly, and theflashers will not operate with the pedestrian pushbutton, then there may be a fault with the push buttonor the wiring to the button.Built-in System TestThe OBUI has a built-in system test function (bISt,see previous section). Activating this function throughthe OBUI, as described in the previous section, performs the system test. After the test completes,it will display any errors or 'PASS' if no error isdetected.Possible errors include:Code Error0002 Severe temperature detected0004 Onboard processor has failed0008 Battery issue detected0010 There is a problem with the supply voltage0020 Keypad failure detected0040 Internal communication failure0080 There is a problem with the ambient brightness sensor0100 There is a problem with the charging circuit0200 There is a problem with the flashing light barsLED Fault MessageThe EMS performs an internal test during start upto check for any shorts or open circuits in the LEDflashers and the associated wiring. This message isdisplayed on the OBUI before any other menu item.Use the tESt function or press the pedestrian pushbutton to clear the alert once the problem has beenresolved.Setting the Radio ChannelIn order for the entire crosswalk set to operate whena pedestrian push button is activated, the SC315utilizes an on board radio to communicate to theother units that make up the crosswalk set. The radiochannel for all of the units must be set to the sameradio channel. Adverse behavior will result if thesame radio channel is not set on all of the units in acrosswalk set.WARNINGIf there are two crosswalks setin close proximity to each other, but are intended to operateindependently, then a differentradio channel for each set will berequired. The factory default for theradio channel is 5.Radio Network SettingsSome of the EMS settings are synchronized acrossthe units in a crosswalk set on the same channel.Once the networked setting is changed on onesystem, the networked settings will be transmittedand synchronized with the system that was justupdated.WARNINGIf there are two crosswalks setsin close proximity to each otherand on the same radio channel, the networked settings may betransmitted and synchronized withthe system that was just updated. These settings are synchronized across thecrosswalk set: dUrA, nItE, AAA. See the Functionsand Settings section for an explanation on thesesettings.NOTEChanges to the networked settingscan be made from any one of theunits in a crosswalk set.
