connection to ensure proper drainage. Condensate trap is availableas an accessory or is field-supplied. Make sure that the outlet of thetrap is at least 1 in. lower than the unit drain-pan condensateconnection to prevent the pan from overflowing. Connect a draintrough using a minimum of field-supplied 3/4 -in. PVC orfield-supplied 3/4 -in. copper pipe at outlet end of the 2 -in. trap(See Fig. 12). Do not undersize the tube. Pitch the drain troughdownward at a slope of at least 1 in. every 10 ft. of horizontal run.Be sure to check the drain trough for leaks. Prime the trap at thebeginning of the cooling season start-up.Step 7—Install Electrical ConnectionsELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARDFailure to follow this warning could result in personal injuryor death. The unit cabinet must have an uninterrupted, unbrokenelectrical ground to minimize the possibility of personalinjury if an electrical fault should occur. This ground mayconsist of an electrical wire connected to the unit groundscrew in the control compartment, or conduit approved forelectrical ground when installed in accordance with NEC,ANSI/NFPA American National Standards Institute/NationalFire Protection Association (latest edition) (in Canada, Cana-dian Electrical Code CSA C22.1) and local electrical codes.Table 1—Physical DataUNIT SIZE 024 030 036 042 048 060NOMINAL CAPACITY (ton) 2 2-1/2 3 3-1/2 4 5OPERATING WEIGHT (lb.) 343 366 433 460 480 492COMPRESSOR ScrollREFRIGERANT (R-22)Quantity (lb.) 8.0 8.4 10.9 11.0 12.3 12.0REFRIGERANT METERING DEVICEOrifice ID (in.)Accurater0.065 0.070 0.080 0.088 0.088 0.101CONDENSER COILRows...Fins/in.Face Area (sq. ft.)2...2111.92...2113.62...2115.52...2119.42...2119.42...2119.4CONDENSER FANNominal CfmDiameter (in.)Motor Hp (Rpm)2700221/8 (825)2700221/8 (825)2800221/8 (825)2800221/8 (825)3300221/4 (1100)3300221/4 (1100)EVAPORATOR COILRows...Fins/in.Face Area (sq. ft.)3...173.73...173.73...174.73...174.73...175.64...175.6EVAPORATOR BLOWERNominal Airflow (Cfm)Size (in.)Motor Hp (RPM)80010x101/3 (1050)100010x101/3 (1050)120011x101/2 (1000)140011x101/2 (1075)160011x101/2 (1075)175011x101.0 (1040)RETURN-AIR FILTERS (in.)*Throwaway 20x24x1 20x24x1 24x36x1 24x36x1 24x36x1 24x36x1*Required filter sizes shown are based on the larger of the ARI (Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Institute) rated cooling airflow or the heating airflow velocity of 300ft./min. for throwaway type.
