17GENERAL JADE W7220 CONTROLLER ANDSENSOR INFORMATIONW7220 EconomizerThe economizer controller used on electromechanical units is aHoneywell W7220, which is located in the RTU base unit’sControl Box. See the base unit’s Installation Instructions forthe location of the Control Box access panel. The W7220 controller provides the following:• 2-line LCD interface screen for setup, configuration, andtroubleshooting.• On-board fault detection and diagnostics• Sensor failure loss of communications identification• Automatic sensor detection• Capabilities for use with multiple-speed indoor fan systemsUser InterfaceThe user interface consists of a LCD display and a 4-button key-pad on the front of the economizer controller.KeypadThe four navigation buttons (see Fig. 37) are used to scrollthrough the menus and menu items, to select menu items, andto change parameter and configuration settings.Fig. 37 — W7220 ControllerUsing the Keypad with MenusTo use the keypad when working with menus:• Press the ▲ (Up arrow) button to move to the previousmenu.• Press the ▼ (Down arrow) button to move to the nextmenu.• Press the (Enter) button to display the first item in thecurrently displayed menu.• Press the (Menu Up/Exit) button to exit a menu’s itemand return to the list of menus.Using the Keypad with Settings and ParametersTo use the keypad when working with set points, system andadvanced settings, checkout tests, and alarms:1. Navigate to the desired menu.2. Press the (Enter) button to display the first item in thecurrently displayed menu.3. Use the ▲ and ▼ buttons to scroll to the desired parameter.4. Press the (Enter) button to display the value of thecurrently displayed item.5. Press the ▲ button to increase the displayed parametervalue.6. Press the ▼ button to decrease the displayed parametervalue.NOTE: When values are displayed, pressing and holding the ▲or▼ button causes the display to automatically increment.7. Press the (Enter) button to accept the displayed valueand store it in nonvolatile RAM.8. The message “CHANGE STORED” displays.9. Press the (Enter) button to return to the current menuparameter.10. Press the (Menu Up/Exit) button to return to the previ-ous menu.Menu StructureTable 11 illustrates the complete hierarchy of menus and pa-rameters for the EconoMi$er X system. The Menus in display order are:• STATUS• SETPOINTS• SYSTEM SETUP• ADVANCED SETUP• CHECKOUT• ALARMSProgramming the Jade W2770 ControllerThe next several pages detail the different status displays, setpoints, setup, and alarms available on the controller. The listbelow and Table 10 summarize the inputs required for a stan-dard application with a single outside air sensor.NOTE: Instead of setting the SETPOINTS, you can use the de-faults already set in the Jade controller – see default settings be-low. See Table 10 for summarized standard settings or, for moredetail, see Table 11 – Menu Structure.SETPOINTS• MAT SET: this sets the mixed air temperature (MAT) set-ting. The controller has a default of 53°F, but the range isanywhere from 38°F to 70°F.• LOW T LOCK: This setting locks out the compressor (ormechanical cooling) at a given temperature. The default is32°F, but the controller’s range is from –45°F to 80°F.• DRYBULB SET: if you have an economizer with a drybulb outside air sensor, you will see and set the DRY-BULB SET. The default setting is 63°F but the controller’srange is 48°F to 80°F.• ENTH CURVE: if you have a single enthalpy outside airsensor instead of a dry bulb, you will see and set the ENTHCURVE setting. There are 5 setting options: ES1 thru ES5.Check Table 7 for the limits for each of these settings. ES3is the default setting.• MIN POS: The minimum position allows for ventilationeven when not in the free-cooling mode. If you have a sin-gle speed unit there will be only one minimum positionIMPORTANT: The default setting on the W7220 controlleris for a “Fan Type” with 2 speed, which is correct for 2 or 3speed units (48/50LC 07-12). For a 1 (single) speed unit, thesetting under SYSTEM SETUP > FAN TYPE must bechanged to 1 speed.IMPORTANT: Table 11 illustrates the complete hierarchy.Menu parameters may be different depending on configura-tion. For example, none of the DCV parameters appear for asystem that does not have a DCV (CO2) sensor.
