To checkswitch:1. Turn off all power to unit.2. Disconnect leads on switch.3. Apply ohm meter leads across switch. You should have continuityon a good switch.NOTE: Because these switches are attached to refrigeration systemunder pressure, it is not advisable to remove this device fortroubleshooting unless you are reasonably certain that a problem exists. If switch must be removed, remove and recover all system charge so thatpressure gauges read 0 psig. Never open system without breakingvacuum with dry nitrogen.Step 10 – High-Pressure SwitchThe high-pressure switch is located in the discharge line and protectsagainst excessive condenser coil pressure. It opens at 650 psig.High pressure may be caused by a dirty outdoor coil, failed fan motor, oroutdoor air recirculation. To check switch:1. Turn off all power to unit.2. Disconnect leads on switch.3. Apply ohm meter leads across switch. You should have continuityon a good switch.Step 11 – Copeland Scroll Compressor (R-410ARefrigerant)The compressor used in this product is specifically designed tooperate with R-410A refrigerant and cannot be interchanged. The scroll compressor pumps refrigerant throughout the system by theinteraction of a stationary and an orbiting scroll. The scroll compressorhas no dynamic suction or discharge valves, and it is more tolerant ofstresses caused by debris, liquid slugging, and flooded starts. Thecompressor is equipped with an internal pressure relief port. Thepressure relief port is a safety device, designed to protect againstextreme high pressure. The relief port has an operating range between550 and 625 psig differential pressure.Step 12 – Refrigerant SystemThis step covers the refrigerant system including the compressor oilneeded, servicing systems on roofs containing synthetic materials, thefilter drier and refrigerant charging.RefrigerantCompressor OilThe Copeland scroll compressor uses 3MAF POE oil. If additional oil isneeded, use Uniqema RL32-3MAF. If this oil is not available, useCopeland Ultra 32 CC or Mobil Arctic EAL22 CC. This oil is extremelyMAX DISTANCE BETWEEN TOP OF FAN GRILLE AND BOTTOM OF FAN BLADESize “A”IN. mm24 7.1 18030 8.0 20336 7.6 19342 7.6 19348 7.6 19360 7.6 193MOTOR FAN GRILLEMOTOR SHAFTAWARNING!EXPLOSION HAZARDFailure to follow this warning could result inpersonal injury, death or property damage.Wear safety glasses and gloves when handlingrefrigerants. Keep torches and other ignitionsources away from refrigerant and oils.WARNING!PROPERTY HAZARD, PERSONAL INJURY ORENVIRONMENTAL HAZARDFailure to follow this warning could result in property damage orpersonal injury or death. This system uses R-410A refrigerant which has higher operatingpressures than R-22 and other refrigerants. No other refrigerant may beused in this system. Gauge set, hoses, and recovery system must bedesigned to handle R-410A If you are unsure consult the equipmentmanufacturer.
