E-7Playing with Different TonesThis digital piano has 11 built-in tones.* You can select these tones using keyboard keys. Thename of the tones assigned to each keyboard key ismarked above the keys. Press the POWER button to turn on thedigital piano.IMPORTANT!• When you turn on the piano, it performs a power upoperation in order to initialize its system. During systeminitialization, the LR button lamps flash for about sixseconds to let you know that system initialization is inprogress.2. Select the tone you want.• Press one of the GRAND PIANO buttons to selecteither a modern sound (MODERN) or a classic sound(CLASSIC).• A lamp will light above the currently selected button.• See “Selecting a Tone Using the Keyboard Keys” onpage E-8 for information about selected other tones.3. The volume andtimbre of this tone is quick torespond to different keyboardpressures, and it has relatively strongreverb. This tone is a good choice fordynamic and lively performances.CLASSICThis is a natural piano tone thatclosely resembles the sound of anacoustic grand piano. Though reverband other effects are kept to aminimum, doing so enhances theimpact of operating the piano pedals(acoustic resonance), for musicallydelicate expressions. This tone is agood choice for lesson and practicesessions.
