9OPERATING YOUR CONTACT GRILL GR 7010OPERATING YOUR CONTACT GRILL GR 7010BEFORE FIRST USEBefore first use, remove all packagingand advertising labels / stickers from theappliance.Make sure that appliance, power cord andthe socket are not damaged.Wipe grill plates, drip tray, probe, storagedrawer and the grill’s outer surface witha soft sponge lightly moistened in warmwater. Wipe dry using a clean wiping cloth.REMOVING AND ATTACHING THE GRILLPLATESTo remove the grill plates (bottom and top),please use the EJECT buttons located in thegrill interior. Press the button to release theplate which will be slightly tilted to alloweasy removal.NOTEBefore removing or attaching the grillplates, always make sure that the grillplates have cooled down completelyand the power cord is unplugged fromthe mains socket.To be able to put the plate in position andsecure in the grill body, position it at an angleof about 45° with the grill so that tabs at theback of the plate will engage in the grill bodyslots. Lower the plate slowly, then gentlypress the plate’s outer edges until you heara click.NOTEIf any plate (top or bottom) is insertedincorrectly in the grill body, an errorwill be shown on the display. In suchcase, remove the plate and pressEJECT to insert it again.DRIP TRAYThe drip tray is embedded in the grill bodyand thanks to the construction design, thejuice will drip directly into the tray.The drip tray is secured in the grill body witha click mechanism. To easily remove the driptray, press it gently inward and the tray willeject from the grill body.Insert the drip tray in the grill body and pressit gently until you hear a click.NOTEWhen handling the tray filled with hotjuice or fat, take great care to avoidburning. Before grilling, make surethat the drip tray is correctly insertedand fixed in the grill body.TURNING ON THE GRILL FOR THE FIRSTTIMEPut the grill on a flat and firm surface witheasy reach of a power outlet. Make sure thatthere is sufficient space around the grill toallow proper air circulation.
