In addition, we ask that you exercisea degree of care when using any electrical appliance and adhere to the following precautions:IMPORTANT SAFETYGUARDS FOR YOUR CORDFREE KETTLE 4012READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USE AND SAVE FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.• Carefully read all instructions beforeoperating the appliance for the first timeand save for future reference.• Remove and safely discard any packagingmaterial and promotional labels beforeusing the kettle for the first time.• To eliminate a choking hazard for youngchildren, remove and safely discard theprotective cover fitted to the power plugof this appliance.• This kettle has been designedspecifi cally for the purpose of boilingdrinking quality water only. Under nocircumstances should this productbe used to boil any other liquids orfoodstuffs. Use only for intended use.Do not use outdoors.• Do not place the kettle near the edge ofa bench or table during operation. Ensurethat the surface is level, clean and free ofwater and other substances.• Do not operate the kettle on a sink drainboard.• Do not place the kettle on or near a hotgas burner, electric element or where itcould touch a heated oven.• Keep the kettle clear of wall, curtains andother heat or steam sensitive materials.Minimum 20cm distance.• Always ensure the kettle is properlyassembled before use. Follow theinstructions provided in this book.• The kettle must be used only with thepower base supplied. Do not use thesupplied base for other types of kettles.• The kettle is not intended to be operatedby means of an external timer or separateremote control system.• Do not touch hot surfaces. Use thehandle for lifting and carrying the kettle.• Do not place anything on top of the lid.• Always ensure the kettle switch is inthe OFF position, then turn the poweroff at the power outlet and removethe plug from the power outlet beforeattempting to move the appliance, whenthe appliance is not in use and beforecleaning and storing.• Use caution when pouring water fromthe kettle, as boiling water and steam willscald. Do not pour water too quickly.• To protect against electric shock, do notimmerse the kettle, power base, powercord or power plug in water or allowmoisture to come in contact with theseparts.• Do not remove the kettle from the powerbase during operation. Ensure the kettlehas switched to ‘off ’ position after thewater has boiled before removing thekettle from the power base.• Do not move the kettle while it isswitched on.• Do not open the lid during operation.• Do not overfill the kettle past themaximum water level mark.
