6 OPERATING YOUR CORDFREE KETTLE KE 4012OPERATING YOUR CORDFREE KETTLE KE 4012Before first useRemove any promotional material attachedto your kettle. It is recommended thatbefore the first use the kettle is filled to themaximum level, boiled and water discarded.Your kettle will only operate when positionedon the power base with the power switch inthe On position. The kettle will automaticallyswitch off once the water has boiled.Operation of your kettle1. To fill the kettle, remove it from thepower base and open the lid by pressingthe lid release button. Fill with thedesired amount of water. Always fillthe kettle between the minimum andmaximum marks on the water window.Too little water will result in the kettleswitching off before the water has boiled.2. Ensure that the lid is locked firmly intoplace. Place the kettle firmly onto thepower base. Plug the power cord into230 V power point and switch On.3. Press the power switch to theOn position. The power On light and thewater gauge will illuminate.Always fill the kettle between the minimum(Min) and the maximum (Max) marks on theexterior of the kettle. Too little water will resultin the kettle switching “Off ” before the waterhas boiled. Filling above the maximum markon the exterior of the kettle may result in boilingwater splashing from the kettle.NOTEThis kettle must only be used with the powerbase supplied. Use caution when pouring waterfrom your kettle, as boiling water will scald.Do not pour the water too quickly.NOTEThe kettle will automatically switch Off oncethe water has boiled. Lift the kettle from thepower base and pour the water. Take care tohold the kettle level, especially when filledto the maximum level. To re-boil it may benecessary to wait for a few seconds to allowthe control to reset.Do not run or use the kettle when empty.Misuse of the appliance may cause its life.The kettle may be stored on its power basewhen not in use. The power point shouldbe switched off and the appliance plugunplugged from the power when not in use.THIS APPLIANCE IS DESIGNED FOR BOILING OF DRINKING QUALITY WATER ONLY.NEVER USE TO HEAT OR BOIL ANY OTHER LIQUIDS OR FOODSTUFFS. THE LIDSHOULD ALWAYS BE FIRMLY IN PLACE AND LOCKED INTO THE CLOSED POSITIONBEFORE USE.DO NOT PRESS THE LID RELEASE BUTTON ON THE HANDLE TO OPEN THE LIDDURING AND AFTER OPERATION. THIS MAY RESULT IN BOILING WATER SPLASHINGFROM THE KETTLE. POUR OUT ALL THE HOT WATER FROM THE KETTLE BEFOREOPENING THE LID TO REFILL.
