Installation manual11 AZQS100~140B7V1B+Y1BSplit system air conditioners4P332194-1B – 2015.0111.4. Vacuum dryingTo remove all moisture from the system, proceed as follows:1 Evacuate the system for at least 2 hours to a target vacuum of–100.7 kPa (= –1.007 bar).2 Check that, with the vacuum pump turned off, the target vacuumis maintained for at least 1 hour.3 Should you fail to reach the target vacuum within 2 hours ormaintain the vacuum for 1 hour, the system may contain toomuch moisture.4 In that case, break the vacuum by pressurizing with nitrogen gasto a gauge pressure of 0.05 MPa (0.5 bar) and repeat steps 1 to3 until all moisture has been removed.5 The stop valves can now be opened, and/or additionalrefrigerant can be charged (see "12. Charging refrigerant" onpage 11).12. Charging refrigerant12.1. Important information regarding the refrigerantusedThis product contains fluorinated greenhouse gases covered by theKyoto Protocol. Do not vent gases into the atmosphere.Refrigerant type: R410AGWP(1) value: 1975(1) GWP = global warming potentialPlease fill in with indelible ink, the factory refrigerant charge of the product, the additional refrigerant amount charged in the field and + the total refrigerant chargeon the fluorinated greenhouse gases label supplied with the product. The filled out label must be adhered on the inside of the product andin the proximity of the product charging port (e.g. on the inside of theservice cover). To avoid compressor breakdown, do not charge the refrigerantmore than the specified amount.12.2. Precautions and general guidelines When servicing the unit requires the refrigerant system to beopened, treatment and evacuation of refrigerant must be done inaccordance with applicable legislation. Refrigerant can not be charged until field wiring has beencompleted. Refrigerant may only be charged after performing the leak testand vacuum drying (see "11. Leak test and vacuum drying" onpage 10). This unit requires additional charging of refrigerant according tothe length of refrigerant piping connected at the site. Make sure to charge the refrigerant in liquid state to the liquidpipe. Since R410A is a mixed refrigerant, its compositionchanges if charged in its gaseous state and normal systemoperation would then no longer be assured. Before charging, check whether the refrigerant cylinder has asyphon attached or not and position the cylinder accordingly. On this model it is not necessary to charge additionally if the pipinglength ≤30 m.INFORMATIONAfter opening the stop valve, it is possible that the pressurein the refrigerant piping does not rise. This might becaused by e.g. the closed state of the expansion valve inthe outdoor unit circuit, but does not present any problemfor correct operation of the unit.12436 51 factory refrigerant chargeof the product:see unit name plate2 additional refrigerantamount charged in the field3 total refrigerant charge4 Contains fluorinatedgreenhouse gases coveredby the Kyoto Protocol5 outdoor unit6 refrigerant cylinder andmanifold for chargingCAUTIONWhen charging a system, care shall be taken that itsmaximum permissible charge is never exceeded, in view ofthe danger of liquid hammer.WARNING Refrigerant cylinders shall be opened slowly. Always use protective gloves and protect your eyeswhen charging refrigerant.DANGER When the power is on, please close the front panelwhen leaving the unit unattended. Charging with an unsuitable substance may causeexplosions and accidents, so always ensure that theappropriate refrigerant (R410A) is charged.Filling using a cylinderwith a siphon attachedCharge the liquidrefrigerant with thecylinder in uprightposition.Filling using a cylinderwithout a siphonattachedCharge the liquidrefrigerant with thecylinder in up-side-downposition.
