Installation manual21 EKHBX008BB3V3SIndoor unit for air to water heat pump system4PW62597-1 – 10.2010Connection of the valve control cablesValve requirements■ Power supply: 230 V AC■ Maximum running current: 100 mAWiring the 2-way valve1 Using the appropriate cable, connect the valve control cable tothe X2M terminal as shown on the wiring diagram.2 Fix the cable(s) with cable ties to the cable tie mountings toensure strain relief.Wiring the 3-way valve1 Using the appropriate cable, connect the valve control cable tothe appropriate terminals as shown on the wiring diagram.2 Fix the cable(s) with cable ties to the cable tie mountings toensure strain relief.Connection of the bottom plate heater1 Using the appropriate cable, connect the power supply cable tothe appropriate terminals as shown on the wiring diagram below.2 Fix the cable(s) with cable ties to the cable tie mountings toensure strain relief.3 When routing out cables, make sure that these do not obstructmounting of the indoor unit cover.4 Select the appropriate field setting values for the bottom plateheater. See "[F-02]", "[F-03]", and "[F-04]" on page 38.Connection of the pumpPump requirements■ Power supply: 230 V AC■ Maximum running current: 3.5 AProcedure1 Use the appropriate cable, connect the cable to the appropriateterminals as shown on the wiring diagram below.2 Fix the cable(s) with cable ties to the cable tie mountings toensure strain relief.Connection to a benefit kWh rate power supply(1)Electricity companies throughout the world work hard to providereliable electric service at competitive prices and are often authorizedto bill clients at benefit rates. E.g. time-of-use rates, seasonal rates,Wärmepumpentarif in Germany and Austria, ...This equipment allows for connection to such benefit rate powersupply delivery systems.Consult with the electricity company acting as provider at the sitewhere this equipment is to be installed to know whether it isappropriate to connect the equipment in one of the benefit kWh ratepower supply delivery systems available, if any. When the equipment is connected to such benefit kWh rate powersupply, the electricity company is allowed to:■ interrupt power supply to the equipment for certain periods oftime;■ demand that the equipment only consumes a limited amount ofelectricity during certain periods of time. The indoor unit is designed to receive an input signal by which theunit switches into forced off mode. At that moment, the outdoor unitcompressor will not operate.NOTICEWiring is different for a NC (normal closed) valve anda NO (normal open) valve. Make sure to connect tothe correct terminal numbers as detailed on the wiringdiagram and illustrations below.Normal closed (NC) 2-way valve Normal open (NO) 2-way valveNOTICETwo types of 3-way valves can be connected. Wiringis different for each type:■ "Spring return 2-wire" type 3-way valveThe 3-way valve should be fitted as such thatwhen the 3-way valve is idle (not activated), thespace heating circuit is selected.■ "SPST 3-wire" type 3-way valveThe 3-way valve should be fitted as such thatwhen terminal ports 9 and 10 are electrified, thedomestic hot water circuit is selected."Spring return 2-wire" valve "SPST 3-wire" valveNC5X2M 6 7MNO5 6X2M 7M9X2M 8 10M9X2M 8 10Mbottom plate heaterINFORMATIONBottom plate heater is only applicable in combination withERLQ or in case of optional EKBPHT kit.(1) When the unit is configured for restricted power supply condition mode, see "Appendix" on page 50.1X1YX2M215a 152X7M1M
