EDUS39-600-F2_a InstallationFXDQ-M 19FOR THE FOLLOWING ITEMS, BE ESPECIALLYCAREFUL DURING CONSTRUCTION, AND CHECKTHEM AGAIN AFTER INSTALLATION IS COM-PLETED:a. Items to be checked after completion of workAlso review the SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS.b. Items to be checked at time of delivery3. SELECTING INSTALLATION SITECAUTION• When moving the unit while removing it from the packingcase, be sure to lift it by the four hanger brackets. Avoid put-ting any pressure on other parts especially the refrigerantpiping.• If you think the humidity inside the ceiling might exceed 86°Fand RH80%, reinforce the insulation on the unit body.Use glass wool or polyethylene foam as insulation so that thethickness is more than 1/2 in. and fits inside the ceiling open-ing.(1) Select an installation site where the following condi-tions are fulfilled and that meets with your customer’sapproval.• Where optimum air distribution can be ensured.• Where nothing blocks air passage.• Where condensate can be properly drained.• Where the ceiling is strong enough to bear the indoorunit weight.• Where the false ceiling is not noticeably on an incline.• Where sufficient clearance for maintenance and ser-vice can be ensured. (Refer to Fig. 1)• Where piping between indoor and outdoor units is pos-sible within the allowable limit. Refer to the installationmanual for the outdoor unit.• Select the *H dimension such that a downward slope ofat least 1/100 is ensured as indicated in Section 7.DRAIN PIPING WORK.• The maintenance space marked with an asterisk isrequired when the installation box for adaptor PC board(KRP1B101) sold separately is used.[ PRECAUTION ]• Install the indoor and outdoor units, power supply wiringand connecting wires at least 3.3 feet away from tele-visions or radios in order to prevent image interferenceor noise. Depending on the radio waves, a distance of3.3 feet may not be sufficient enough to eliminate thenoise.• If installing the wireless kit in a room with electronic flu-orescent lighting, the remote controller’s transmissiondistance may be shortened. Indoor units should beinstalled as far away from fluorescent lighting as possi-ble.DANGER• Do not install unit in an area where flammable materials arepresent due to the risk explosion resulting in serious injuryor death.Items to be checked If not properly done, whatis likely to occur CheckAre the indoor and out-door unit fixed firmly?Units may drop, vibrate ormake noise. Is the gas leak test fin-ished? Insufficient cooling. Is the unit fully insulated? Condensate may drip.Does drainage flowsmoothly? Condensate may drip.Does the power supplyvoltage correspond to thatshown on the nameplate? The unit may malfunctionor the components burnout. Are wiring and piping cor-rect?The unit may malfunctionor the components burnout. Is the unit safelygrounded?Incomplete grounding mayresult in electric shocks. Is wiring size according tospecifications? The unit may malfunctionor the components burnout. Is something blocking theair outlet or inlet of eitherthe indoor or outdoorunits?Insufficient cooling. Are refrigerant pipinglength and additionalrefrigerant charge noteddown? The refrigerant charge inthe system is not clear.Items to be checked CheckDid you explain about operations while showing theoperation manual to your customer?Did you hand the operation manual and warranty over toyour customer?Did you explain about the way of maintaining and clean-ing local procurements such as (air filter, air outlet andsuction grilles to your customer?Did you hand manuals of local procurements (in caseequipped) over to your customer?Control boxMaintenancespaceMaintenancespace12or more*12 ormore13/16 or more100 or more *H=9-1/2 or more7-7/8CeilingFloor surface(length : in.)Fig. 1
