5 English6-2 HOW TO WORK THE REFRIGERANTPIPINGRemove the pinched pipings brazed to the end of the internalpiping.Braze and connect the standard accessory piping.Connection pipingsDo not directlyflame the pipefixing plate.Do not directlyflame thesolenoid valve andmotor operated valve.Air filter mustbe removed.Remove the pinched pipings.Do not directly flame thedrain pan and thermistor.6-3 PIPING CONNECTIONCAUTIONDo not use anti-oxidants when brazing the piping joints.Residue can clog pipings and break equipment.• Be sure to perform a nitrogen blow when brazingBrazing without performing nitrogen replacement orreleasing nitrogen into the piping will create largequantities of oxidized film on the inside of the pipings, adversely affecting valves and compressors in therefrigerating system and preventing normal operation.Note• For nitrogen replacement, refer to the installation workmanual. (Contact the dealer.)• When brazing pipes while flowing nitrogen, set the nitrogenpressure to 0.02 MPa or less using a pressure reducingvalve (to the extent that your cheeks feel breeze).• Do not use a flux when brazing the refrigerant system. Usephosphor copper brazing (BCup-2: JIS Z 3264/B-Cu93P-710/795: ISO 3677) which does not require flux.Using a chorine flux may cause the pipes to corrode, and if it contains fluoride, it may cause the refrigerantlubricant to deteriorate, adversely affecting therefrigerant piping system.Refrigerant piping Manual valveLocation to be brazedNitrogenTapingNitrogenPressure reducing valveCAUTIONDo not let any refrigerant other than R410A enter therefrigerant system.Ventilate if the refrigerant gas leaks during work.6-4 PROCESSING METHOD OF CONNECTIONPIPING• See the following table for the Processing connectionpiping.• For right side piping, replace the partition bush fixed on theright side panel with the bush for hole fixed on the left sidepanel.Left side piping connection Right side piping connectionPipingon liquidside(125-250type)• Pass the piping fromthe hole on the left sideinto the unit, conductsleeve flare processand brazed connection.Note)Inside dia. of Flare(See the table forflare part dimensions)• Pass the piping fromthe hole on the rightside into the unit, conduct sleeve flareprocess and brazedconnection.Note)Inside dia. of Flare(See the table for flarepart dimensions)Piping onliquid side(400 · 500type)Connect the accessorypipes and bring themoutside of the unit.Modify the accessory leftside piping and use it forthe right side.( )For left side For right sideCut thepipingConnection sideinside the unitFlare the pipe end oruse the fitting and connectthe piping by brazing.Piping ongas side(125-500type)6-5 THE TABLE FOR FLARE PARTDIMENSIONSRefer to the below table for flare part dimensions(Unit: mm)IndoorunitcapacityPipingsizeInside dia. offlareAllowance ofinserting part Bendradius Flare shaped0 d1 Tolerance L Tolerance125 typeφ9.5×t0.8 ormore9.64 +0.10 7 +1.50 R18φd1φd0C1220TL200 type250 typeNoteBraze by socket if sleeve flare process cannot be conducted.CAUTIONThermal insulation of the field piping must be carried outincluding the piping connection parts. Otherwise, it maycause heat injury by condensation or connecting to theexposed piping.• Secure the piping so that it does not touch the wiring.• Insulation of pipes must be perfectly carried out withoutleaving any clearance to avoid condensation.• When connecting liquid and gas connection pipings, insulate all the internal pipings with field supplied insulationmaterial for refrigerant pipings.
