Through-the-Door DisconnectOpening the through-the-door disconnect withoutperforming a proper machine shut-down is notrecommended except in emergenciesThe optional disconnect provides for locking out power to theunit. To lock out power to the unit, rotate the habdle to the“Reset/Lock” position and insert a padlock or locking devicethrough the base of the handle. Do not lockout the handlewith the Interlock in bypass modeDANGERHazardous voltage May cause severe injury or deathDisconnect electric power before servicing equipment. Morethan one disconnect may be required to de-energize the unit.CAUTIONMolded case switches do not provide over-current protection. This device may automatically open the circuit at levels abovethe ampere rating of the switch.Figure 89: Through-the-Door Handle DisconnectUnit StorageLocationThe Maverick II is an outdoor unit. However, the constructionschedule may dictate storage either on the ground or in itsfinal position at the site. If the unit is stored on the ground, additional precautions should be taken as follows:• Make sure that the unit is well supported along the lengthof the base rail.• Make sure that the unit is level (no twists or unevenground surface).• Provide proper drainage around the unit to preventflooding of the equipment.• Provide adequate protection from vandalism, mechanicalcontact, etc.• Make sure all doors are securely closed and all latchesclosed.• Units should be fitted with covers over the supply andreturn air openings.Preparation for StorageSupply Fans1 Remove the drive belts, tag them with the fan name andunit serial number, and store them in a conditioned spaceout of direct sunlight.2 Once every two weeks, rotate the fan and motor shafts.Mark the shaft positions first to make sure they stop in adifferent position.3 Depending on local climate conditions, condensatemay collect on components inside the units. To preventsurface rust and discoloration, spray all bare metal partswith a rust preventive compound. Pay close attention tofan shafts, sheaves, bearings, and bearing supports.Cabinet SectionsOnce a month, open a door on each section and verify that nomoisture or debris is accumulating in the unit.Control Compartment1 Daikin recommends that the electronic controlequipment in the unit be stored in a 5% to 95% RH (non-condensing) environment.2 It may be necessary to put a heat source (light bulb) inthe main control panel to prevent the accumulation ofatmospheric condensate within the panel. The locationand wattage of the heat source is dependent on localenvironmental conditions.3 Check the control compartment every two weeksto confirm that the heat source is functional and isadequatefor current conditions.maInTenanCewww.DaikinApplied.com 105 IM 1058-8 • MAVERICK II ROOFTOP SYSTEMS
