Installation manual7 RZQG71~140L + RZQSG100~140LSplit system air conditioners4P339538-1A – 2014.032. In case of installing multiple units (2 units or more) in lateralconnection per row.Relation of dimensions of H, A and L are shown in the table below.8. Refrigerant pipe size and allowablepipe length8.1. Selection of piping material Construction material: phosphoric acid deoxidised seamlesscopper for refrigerant. Temper grade: use piping with temper grade in function of thepipe diameter as listed in table below. The pipe thickness of the refrigerant piping should comply withrelevant local and national regulations. The minimal pipethickness for R410A piping must be in accordance with the tablebelow.Only use annealed material for flare connections.8.2. Refrigerant pipe sizeRefer to figure 3 for twin system, to figure 4 for triple system and tofigure 5 for double twin system. Main pipe (pipe between outdoor and first branch). The pipes should have the same size as the outdoorconnections. Pipe between first branch and second branch (L2+L3) (only fordouble twin). Pipe between branch and indoor units (L2~L3 for twin, L2~L4 fortriple and L4~L7 for double twin). These pipe sizes must have the same size as the connectedindoor units pipe sizes. Branch: see marking '' on figures 3, 4and 5.L AL≤H L≤1/2H ≥2501/2H≤H ≥300H Installation impossibleDANGER Piping and other pressure containing parts shallcomply with the applicable legislation and shall besuitable for refrigerant. Use phosphoric aciddeoxidised seamless copper for refrigerant. Installation shall be done by an installer, the choice ofmaterials and installation shall comply with applicablelegislation. In Europe the EN378 is the applicationstandard that shall be used.NOTICETo persons in charge of piping work:Be sure to open the stop valve after piping installing andvacuuming is complete. (Running the system with thevalve closed may break the compressor.)INFORMATIONIt is forbidden to discharge refrigerant into the atmosphere.Collect the refrigerant in accordance with the freoncollection and destruction law.NOTICEDo not use flux when brazing the refrigerant piping. For brazing, use phosphor copper brazing filler metal(BCuP) which does not require a flux.(If a chlorine flux is used, the piping will corrode, and if theflux contains fluoride, it will cause the coolant oil todeteriorate, adversely affecting the coolant piping system.ALHPipe ØTemper gradeof piping materialMinimal thicknesst (mm)6.4 / 9.5 / 12.7 Annealed 0.8015.9 Annealed 1.0019.1 Half hardRefrigerant pipe size(a)(a) In case of twin, triple and double twin applications, the listed refrigerant pipe sizesrelate to the main pipes only. When using existing pipes, size-up is allowed asmentioned in the table above.Additional restrictions towards allowable pipe lengths,as mentioned in the table "Allowable pipe length andheight difference" on page 8, must be taken into account. Not using the standard pipe size may result incapacity decrease. The installer must acknowledgethis and judge this very carefully in function of thecomplete installation.
