Small animals thatmake contact with electrical parts can cause malfunctions, smoke or fire.NOTICEDo not block the air vents. This could affect air circulationinside the unit.15.3.5 To check for leaks after chargingrefrigerantAfter charging refrigerant in the system an additional leak test mustbe performed. Refer to "16.6 To check refrigerant piping joints forleaks after charging refrigerant" [437].16 Charging refrigerant16.1 Precautions when chargingrefrigerantWARNING▪ Only use R32 as refrigerant. Other substances maycause explosions and accidents.▪ R32 contains fluorinated greenhouse gases. Its globalwarming potential (GWP) value is 675. Do NOT ventthese gases into the atmosphere.▪ When charging refrigerant, ALWAYS use protectivegloves and safety glasses.NOTICEIf the power of some units is turned off, the chargingprocedure cannot be finished properly.NOTICETurn ON the power 6 hours before operation in order tohave power running to the crankcase heater and to protectthe compressor.NOTICEIf operation is performed within 12 minutes after the indoorand outdoor units are powered on, the compressor will notoperate before the communication is established in acorrect way between outdoor unit(s) and indoor units.NOTICEBefore starting charging procedures, check if the7‑segment display indication of the outdoor unit A1P PCBis as normal (see "18.1.3 To access mode 1 or 2" [441]).If a malfunction code is present, see "22.1 Solvingproblems based on error codes" [447].NOTICEMake sure all connected indoor units are recognised (seesetting [1‑10] in "18.1.6 Mode 1: monitoringsettings" [441]).NOTICEIn case of maintenance and the system (outdoor unit+fieldpiping+indoor units) does not contain any refrigerant anymore (e.g., after refrigerant reclaim operation), the unit hasto be charged with its original amount of refrigerant (referto the nameplate on the unit) and the determined additionalrefrigerant amount.
