2 Inspection, handling and unpacking the unitInstallation manual4RWEQ96~432TAYCUVRV W T-Series water-cooled system air conditioner4P540122-1B – 2018.11▪ Do not touch the refrigerant pipes during andimmediately after operation as the refrigerant pipesmay be hot or cold, depending on the condition of therefrigerant flowing through the refrigerant piping, compressor, and other refrigerant cycle parts. It mayresult in your hands getting burns or frostbite if youtouch the refrigerant pipes. To avoid injury, give thepipes time to return to normal temperature or, if youmust touch them, be sure to wear proper gloves.▪ Install drain piping to proper drainage. Improper drainpiping may result in water leakage and propertydamage.▪ Insulate piping to prevent condensation.▪ Be careful when transporting the product.▪ Do not turn off the power immediately after stoppingoperation. Always wait for at least 5 minutes beforeturning off the power. Otherwise, water leakage mayresult.▪ Do not use a charging cylinder. Using a chargingcylinder may cause the refrigerant to deteriorate.▪ Refrigerant R410A in the system must be kept clean, dry, and tight.(a) Clean and Dry - Foreign materials (including mineraloils such as SUNISO oil or moisture) should beprevented from getting into the system.(b) Tight - R410A does not contain any chlorine, doesnot destroy the ozone layer, and does not reduce theearth’s protection again harmful ultraviolet radiation.R410A can contribute to the greenhouse effect if it isreleased. Therefore take proper measures to checkfor the tightness of the refrigerant piping installation.Read the chapter Refrigerant Piping and follow theprocedures.▪ Since R410A is a blend, the required additionalrefrigerant must be charged in its liquid state. If therefrigerant is charged in a state of gas, its compositioncan change and the system will not work properly.▪ The indoor unit is for R410A. See the catalog for indoormodels that can be connected. Normal operation is notpossible when connected to other units.▪ Remote controller (wireless kit) transmitting distancecan be shorter than expected in rooms with electronicfluorescent lamps (inverter or rapid start types). Installthe indoor unit far away from fluorescent lamps asmuch as possible.▪ Indoor and outside units are for indoor installation only.▪ Do not install the air conditioner or heat pump in thefollowing locations:(a) Where a mineral oil mist or oil spray or vapor isproduced, for example, in a kitchen.Plastic parts may deteriorate and fall off and thusmay result in water leakage.(b) Where corrosive gas, such as sulfurous acid gas, isproduced.Corroding copper pipes or soldered parts may resultin refrigerant leakage.(c) Near machinery emitting electromagnetic waves.Electromagnetic waves may disturb the operation ofthe control system and cause the unit to malfunction.(d) Where flammable gas may leak, where there iscarbon fiber, or ignitable dust suspension in the air,or where volatile flammables such as thinner orgasoline are handled. Operating the unit in suchconditions may result in a fire.▪ Take adequate measures to prevent the outside unitfrom being used as a shelter by small animals. Smallanimals making contact with electrical parts may resultin malfunctions, smoke, or fire. Instruct the customer tokeep the area around the unit clean.NOTE▪ Install the power supply and transmission wires for theindoor and outside units at least 3.5 ft. (1 m) away fromtelevisions or radios to prevent image interference ornoise. Depending on the radio waves, a distance of3.5 ft. (1 m) may not be sufficient to eliminate the noise.▪ Dismantling the unit, treatment of the refrigerant, oiland additional parts must be done in accordance withthe relevant local, state, and national regulations.▪ Do not use the following tools that are used withconventional refrigerants: gauge manifold, chargehose, gas leak detector, reverse flow check valve, refrigerant charge base, vacuum gauge, or refrigerantrecovery equipment.▪ If the conventional refrigerant and refrigerator oil aremixed in R410A, the refrigerant result in deterioration.▪ This air conditioner or heat pump is an appliance thatshould not be accessible to the general public.▪ As design pressure is 478 psi (3.3 MPa), the wallthickness of field-installed pipes should be selected inaccordance with the relevant local, state, and nationalregulations.Codes and RegulationsThis product is designed and manufactured to comply with nationalcodes. Installation in accordance with such codes and/or prevailinglocal codes/regulations is the responsibility of the installer. Themanufacturer assumes no responsibility for equipment installed inviolation of any codes or regulations. Rated performance is achievedafter 72 hours of operation.Make sure to use a DAIKIN specified checker while measuring subcooling. Do not use the check valve or the other port to measure it.2 Inspection, handling andunpacking the unit2 1 Inspection, handling andunpacking the unitThis chapter describes what to do after un-boxing the outside unitonce it has been delivered on site.Including:▪ Unpacking and handling the outside unit▪ Removing the accessories from the unit▪ Removing the transportation stayKeep the following in mind:▪ At delivery, the unit must be checked for damage. Any damagemust be reported immediately to the carrier's claims agent.▪ Bring the packed unit as close as possible to its final installationposition to prevent damage during transport.▪ When handling the unit, take into account the following:Fragile, handle the unit with care.Keep the unit upright in order to avoid compressordamage.▪ Choose in advance the path along which the unit is to be broughtin.
