The electronic control is inte-grated into the powertrain control module, located onthe right side under the air cleaner. The controls arelocated on the steering wheel and consist of twoswitches. The ON and OFF, buttons are located onthe upper left side of the airbag module. TheRESUME/ACCEL and SET/COAST buttons are lo-cated on the upper right side of the airbag module(Fig. 1). For identification and location of the majorcomponents (Figs. 2 and 3).The system is designed to operate at speeds above35 mph (50 km/h).WARNING: THE USE OF SPEED CONTROL IS NOTRECOMMENDED WHEN DRIVING CONDITIONS DONOT PERMIT MAINTAINING A CONSTANT SPEED,SUCH AS IN HEAVY TRAFFIC OR ON ROADS THATARE WINDING, ICY, SNOW COVERED, OR SLIP-PERY.TO ACTIVATE: Press the ON button. The speedcontrol functions are now ready for use. The systemhas an AUTO-OFF feature which turns the system offwhenever the system looses power or the ignition isturned OFF. If this happens, the ON button must bepressed to activate the system.TO DEACTIVATE:• A soft tap of the brake pedal• Normal brake applicationWhile the system is engaged this will disengagespeed control without erasing the set speed inmemory.
