VLT ® FCM Series400 Brake functions(BRAKE FUNCTIONS)Value:OFF (OFF) [0]AC brake (AC BRAKE) [4]Function:AC brake [4] can be selected to improve braking. Withthe new AC brake function it is possible to controlthe time of increased motor losses, still protectingthe motor thermally. This function will yield a brakingtorque between 80 and 20 % in the speed rangeup to base speed (50 Hz). Above base speed theextra braking will gradually disappear.Description of choice:Select AC brake [4] if short-term generated loads occur.■ Sleep modeSleep mode makes it possible to stop the motorwhen it is running at low speed, similar to a noload situation. If consumption in the system goesback up, the frequency converter will start themotor and supply the power required.NB!:Energy can be saved with this function,since the motor is only in operation whenthe system needs it.Sleep mode is not active if Local referenceor Jog has been selectedThe function is active in both Open loopand Closed loop.In parameter 403 Sleep mode timer, the Sleep mode isactivated. In parameter 403 Sleep mode timer, a timeris set that determines how long the output frequencycan be lower than the frequency set in parameter404 Sleep frequency. When the timer runs out, thefrequency converter will ramp down the motor to stopvia parameter 208 Ramp-down time. If the outputfrequency rises above the frequency set in parameter404 Sleep frequency, the timer is reset.✭ = factory setting.
