Danish Interpretation Systems User ManualManual 01 18 0567540transmitter and for loop-through connection to otherradiators. Automatic cable termination is achievedby a built-in switch in the BNC connectors.3. Output power selection switch - The radiators canbe switched between full- and half-power operation.4. Delay compensation switches - Two 10-positionswitches to compensate for differences in cablelengths to the radiators.5. Amber indicator LEDs - Give an indication of theradiator status.6. Red indicator LEDs - Give an indication of theradiator status.Note: The indicator LEDs are positioned behind thesemi-transparent cover and are only visible when ON.5.1.2 Radiator status indicationA radiator consists of two IRED panels. Each IREDpanel has an amber and a red indicator LED (see figureFigure 5.1-B) which show the status of the radiator panelRed LED Amber LED Statuson off Stand-by modeoff on Transmittingflashing on At switch-on:Initialising signal equalisationDuring operation:Temperature protectionmode.See chapter 6,Trouble-shootingon If IRED panel failure:See chapter 6,Trouble-shooting5.1.3 Mounting the radiatorsRadiators in permanent installations can be either fixedto a wall, hung under a ceiling or balcony or secured toany sturdy material, using the suspension bracketsupplied with the radiator. The mounting angle can beadjusted for optimal coverage. For wall mounting a separate bracket is also required. Innon-permanent installations, a floor stand can be used.5.1.3.1 Attaching the suspensionbracketFirst assemble the supplied suspension bracket andconnect it to the radiator (see Figure 5.1-C and Figure5.1-D).This bracket is attached to the radiator by two bolts withwashers. There are corresponding holes on the back ofthe radiators. There is also a spring-loaded plunger(indicated by a black arrow in Figure 5.1-D), locatedabove the bolt hole on the right-hand arm of the bracket, which is used for adjusting the angle of the radiator(shown in inset in Figure 5.1-D). There arecorresponding holes on the back of the radiator foraccepting this plunger. The mounting angle can beadjusted in steps of 15°.Warning: Always ensure that natural airflow is notobstructed by ceilings, walls etc. when determining theposition of the radiator. Leave plenty of space around theradiator to prevent it becoming too hot.Note: When in operation, the radiators may feel warm tothe touch. This is quite normal, and does not indicate aradiator fault or malfunction.Warning: When you install the radiator in a ceiling, youmust leave at least 1 m3 of free space around the back ofthe radiator. To prevent the radiator from becoming toohot, make sure that there is a good airflow in this freespace.
