Hardware Overview66 System Hardware GuidePower Supply LEDsFigure 27: Power unit LEDsLED locationsA system has three power supply units. Each power unit has an LED (see Figure 27) that glowsgreen when the unit is functional. The LED glows amber if the unit has failed, but still has power. The LED also glows amber when the system is turned off but the unit is still plugged in to a livepower source. The LED is dark if the unit has no power. Also, when a unit fails, the power supplyfailure LED on the front panel of the system glows red (see Figure 24 on page 64).Hardware InterfaceThe hardware interface panel is where you connect to a Data Domain system with a serial console,a monitor and keyboard, or through an Ethernet connection. See Figure 28 on page 67. TheEthernet interfaces eth0 and eth1 are for data transfer to the system or for administrative accessover a network. Both Ethernet interfaces are 1000 Base-T Gigabit copper ports that can accept10/100 Base-T or Gigabit connections.
