Use only Datacard adhesive-backed cards with the printer. Theprinting surface (white side) of an adhesive-backed card meets the material requirements for usein the printer. Use the following guidelines: Store cards in a cool place (such as a refrigerator) to avoid adhesive migration. Clean the printer’s card tracks to remove any adhesive residue. Use a printhead cleaningswab or isopropanol and a swab to remove the residue. Fan cards before loading them into the input hopper. Use a print margin of at least 0.05 inch when using adhesive-backed cards. Do not apply laminator overlay material to adhesive-backed cards.Card Quality GuidelinesCards must meet the following card quality guidelines for the printer to print high-qualitygraphics on them successfully.Card SurfaceThe card must be smooth and even, and free of irregularities such as raised burrs or particlesembedded in the surface. Surface irregularities can cause printing voids, especially when printingedge to edge.Card HandlingThese guidelines apply to unprinted cards. Any debris or particles on the surface of an unprinted card can reduce print quality anddamage the printhead. Grease or oils, such as oils from your fingers, also reduce print quality. Keep cards completelyclean. Do not touch the print surface of a card with your fingers or hands. Do not use a rubber band to bind blank cards together. If you drop a card on the floor, do not insert it into the printer.
