SE-2800INSTRUCTION MANUAL27Setting up with the SE Remote softwareIt is possible to control the SE-2800 witha Windows 7 computer using an Ethernetconnection. The SE Remote software suppliedwith the switcher needs to be installed on thecomputer first.Connect an Ethernet cable between the PC andthe SE-2800 switcher.Turn on the PC and SE-2800.The Settings or SET button is located just above the T-Bar in the SE Remote display above.When clicked a new window will open as shown left.This Settings window is used to match the software tothe IP address of the connected SE-2800 switcher.If unknown, the switcher’s IP address may be found byusing the SEConfig software first.NOTE: It is not possible to run both the SEConfig andSE Remote software applications at the same time.SET functionThe Find button within the SEConfig software will helpconfirm the IP address of the switcher. See page 23 formore information on SEConfig.The PC used must be in the same IP network as theSE-2800. So the first three octets (numbers) in thePC’s IP Address must match the first three octets ofthe switcher’s IP address. The fourth octet should be adifferent number for the PC and switcher.The SE-2800 then needs to be placed into PCControl mode. To do this press the PC Controlbutton on the SE-2800 Control Panel orkeyboard.Now you can launch the SE Remote software onthe PC.Remote software displays an image of the SE-2800’s keyboard as shown below.To reset the IP Address of the PC/laptop usethe Network and Sharing Center option inWindows 7 Control Panel. Click on Local AreaConnection then Properties. Click to highlightInternet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) thenclick Properties again. Then click Use thefollowing IP address.
