Themodem’s built-in redundancy switch logic uses either all alarms or combinations of the A and Balarms to activate a switch request.The summary Alarm LED is the “OR” function of either of the alarm relays. The modem allows theuser to select such items as a low input level or Eb/No to activate an alarm. By providing two relaysand the configuration options, several alternative alarm indication scenarios can be arranged.Descriptions of alarm conditions that can be mapped to alarm outputs are shown in Table 3-5 throughTable 3-10.3.7.14. Setting the Modem Station ID NameEach modem contains two unique identification entries available at the front panel or remotely. Theyare the unit serial number and the Unit Name or “Station ID”. The serial number is set at the factoryand cannot be changed, but the Station ID can be set and changed whenever necessary. This fieldallows identification of the modem with up to 16 characters.The Station ID can be set in the front panel – Station ID> parameter and pressing“Edit” to begin entry. Each character position is selected using the right and left arrow keys, and thecharacter at that position is set using the up and down arrow keys. When the proper entry is achievedpress the “Enter” key to finalize the input.
