Be sure there is enough room to back the tractorup to the machine.3. Start the tractor and slowly back it up into theSidearm swivel hitch.4. Stop the tractor, place all controlsin neutral, setpark brake andremove ignitionkey beforedismounting.5. Use the Sidearmhitch jack to raiseor lower the hitchto align with thedrawbar hitchplate assembly.Note: Typically, the top hole setting is used andrecommended. In severe angle ditch cutting, you may wish to raise the machine by locatingthe drawbar pin in the lower hitch hole.6. Install the drawbarpin and lock pin.How To Hook-Up Your SidearmAttaching Sidearm to TractorInstalling Safety Chain• Install the safety chain between the tractor drawbarcage and the Sidearm hitch.• Provide only enough slack in chain to permit hitch toswivel.• Fasten chain back to itself with hook latch and ensurechain is properly and securely attached.Caution: Do not use safety chain by itself fortowing. Replace entire chain if any link or endfitting is broken, stretched or otherwise deformed. If replacing, use a chain with the strength ratinggreater than the combined gross weight of theSidearm and any attached equipment (ie. rotarycutter).Top pin setting:- lowers hitch height- reduces drive angleReduced driveangle, lowerswear.Important:• Check the operating angle of your driveline fromthe tractor PTO to the front Sidearm gearbox. Thegreater the angle, the quicker the driveline wearsat the cross joint connections. You may even hearnoise from these connections. Due to the variancein drawbar to PTO heights from many tractormanufacturers, it is difficult to set a standardconfiguration for hitch heights. The typical rule ofthumb is the lower the hitch setting the easier it ison the driveline (less angle). However, in severeditch angles, you may need to raise this hitchheight.
