Clear the area of bystanders, especially smallchildren, before converting into transportconfiguration.2. Raise the grille to its highest position byretracting the hopper box cylinders.3. Position the redtransport pin intotransport positionand secure pins.4. Lower the grilleto rest on the redpin.5. Rotate hitchpole jack out of the way and securewith chained pin.6. Unpin hitchpole.7. Carefully ‘jack-knife’ tractor/hitch polecombination into full transport.8. Reinstall hitchpole pin and secure.9. Clean the SMV, lights and reflectors.10. Maintain a safe speed. Slow down whencornering and on rough roads.11. Slow down and pull off to the side of the roadwhen meeting other traffic.12. Use hazard flashers on tractor unlessprohibited by law.TRANSPORTINGRIDERSTRANSPORT SAFETY• Read and understand ALL the information in theOperator’s Manual regarding procedures andSAFETY when operating the Rock Picker in thefield/yard or on the road.• Check with local authorities regarding machinetransport on public roads. Obey all applicablelaws and regulations.• Always travel at a safe speed. Usecaution when making corners ormeeting traffic.• Make sure the SMV (Slow MovingVehicle) emblem and all the lights and reflectorsthat are required by the local highway andtransport authorities are in place, are cleanand can be seen clearly by all overtaking andoncoming traffic.• Keep to the right and yield the right-of-way toallow faster traffic to pass. Drive on the roadshoulder, if permitted by law.• Always use hazard warning flashers on tractorwhen transporting unless prohibited by law.• Always use a pin with provisions for amechanical retainer and a safety chain whenattaching to a tractor or towing vehicle.• Ensure the red transport pin on the grille is intransport position and the swing hitch pole isfully inward and secured before moving on apublic road.
