35System Recovery OptionsUse Dell Factory Image Restore only as thelast method to restore your operating system.These options restore your hard drive to theoperating state it was in when you purchasedthe computer. Any programs or files addedsince you received your computer—includingdata files—are permanently deleted fromthe hard drive. Data files include documents,spreadsheets, e-mail messages, digital photos,music files, and so on. If possible, back up alldata before using Factory Image Restore.Dell Factory Image RestoreTurn on the computer. When the Dell logo1.appears, press several times to accessthe Vista Advanced Boot Options Window.Select2. Repair Your Computer.The3. System Recovery Options windowappears.Select a keyboard layout and click4. Next.To access the recovery options, log on as a5.local user. To access the command prompt,type administrator in the User namefield, then click OK.Click6. Dell Factory Image Restore. The DellFactory Image Restore welcome screenappears.NOTE: Depending upon your configuration,you may need to select Dell Factory Tools,then Dell Factory Image Restore.Click7. Next.
