The replacement kit for thesystem board includes media that provide a utility for transferring the Service Tag to the replacement system board.Removing the System Board Assembly1. Follow the instructions in Before Working on Your Computer.2. Remove the hard drive (see Removing the Hard Drive).3. Remove the WLAN card (see Removing a WLAN Card).4. Remove the fan (see Removing the Fan).5. Remove the hinge cover (see Removing the Hinge Cover).6. Remove the keyboard (see Removing the Keyboard).7. Remove the display assembly (see Removing the Display Assembly).8. Remove the palm rest (see Removing the Palm Rest).9. Remove the internal card with Bluetooth® wireless technology, if installed (see Removing the Card).10. Remove the optical drive (see Removing the Optical Drive).11. Disconnect the USB daughter-card cable from the system board.12. Disconnect the DC-power cable from the system board.13. Disconnect the speaker cable from the system board.14. Remove any cards or blanks that may be installed in the ExpressCard slot or the 8-in-1 card slot.15. Remove the three M2.5 x 5-mm screws from the system board.16.
