39Learning functionIf your AV component is not a Denon product or if it cannot be operated using the preset memory, it can be controlled with the accessoriousremote control unit by storing its remote control signals in the remote control unit.For some remote control signals it is not possible to “learn” the signals or the device will not operate properly. In such cases use the remotecontrol unit included with the device to operate it.DVD72, 31, 4, 81, 4, 82, 3, 71 Press the power ON/SOURCE button and the OFF buttonsimultaneously.• “PRE” appears on the remote control unit’s display.2 Use the • and ª cursor buttons to display “LRN” on theremote control unit’s display, then press the ENTER button.• “SEL” is displayed.3 Use the • and ª cursor buttons to select the mode for thebutton to be “learned”, then press the ENTER button.• “KEY” is displayed.4 Press the button to be “learned” while “KEY” is displayed.“START” appears.• “AGAIN” is displayed if a button that cannot be “learned”is pressed.• To cancel, press the power ON/SOURCE button and theOFF button simultaneously.5 Point the remote control units directly at each other and pressand hold in the button on the other remote control unit whichyou want to “learn”.6 “OK” appears on the remote control unit’s display andlearning is completed.• “KEY” is displayed. Other keys can be “learned” byrepeating steps 4 to 6.7 The mode can be switched by pressing a mode button whilethe “KEY” indicator is lit.When the “ENTER” button is pressed, the “KEY” displayreappears and the learning standby mode is set.Other remotecontrol unit8 To cancel the learning mode, press the power ON/SOURCEbutton and the OFF button simultaneously again.Registering is not possible in the receiver mode.
