4ENGLISH12BEFORE USINGCAUTIONS ON INSTALLATIONPay attention to the following before using this unit:• Moving the setTo prevent short circuits or damaged wires in the connection cords,always unplug the power cord and disconnect the connection cordsbetween all other audio components when moving the set.• Before turning the power switch onCheck once again that all connections are proper and that there arenot problems with the connection cords. Always set the powerswitch to the standby position before connecting and disconnectingconnection cords.• Store this instructions in a safe place.After reading, store this instructions along with the warranty in asafe place.• Note that the illustrations in this instructions may differ fromthe actual set for explanation purposes.Noise or disturbance of the picture may be generated if this unit orany other electronic equipment using microprocessors is used near atuner or TV.If this happens, take the following steps:• Install this unit as far as possible from the tuner or TV.• Set the antenna wires from the tuner or TV away from this unit’spower cord and input/output connection cords.• Noise or disturbance tends to occur particularly when using indoorantennas or 300 Ω/ohms feeder wires. We recommend usingoutdoor antennas and 75 Ω/ohms coaxial cables.(1) DVD SURROUND RECEIVERB10 cm/4 inch or more10 cm/4 inch or moreWall2 SC-A3LThe quality of the sound produced from the speaker system isaffected by the size and type (Japanese or Western) of the room,as well as by the method of installation. Consider the pointslisted below before installing the speaker system.• Note that placing the speaker system on the same stand or shelf asa record player may result in howling.• If there is a wall, glass door, etc., directly in front of or behind thespeaker system, cover the wall or door with a thick curtain toprevent resonance and reflection.• The SC-A3L speaker systems are of the low-leakage-flux type andcan be used near televisions, but depending on the TV there maybe color blotching on the picture. If this happens, turn off the TV’spower, wait 15 to 30 minutes, then turn the TV’s power back on.The TV’s automatic degaussing circuit should reduce the blotchingon the picture. If blotching persists, move the speaker further away.• When placing the satellite speaker system (SC-A3L) on a stand, etc.,stick the included anti-slip pads (cork, approximately 2 mm thick) at thefour corners of the bottom surface. (Refer to the illustration below.)• When mounting the satellite speaker system (SC-A3L) on a stand orbracket, M5 nuts are inserted into the bottom of the satellite speakersystem (SC-A3L) at intervals of 60 mm. When mounting, followingthe instructions in the manual included with the speaker stand orceiling mount bracket, and be sure to install properly and securely.• When the satellite speaker system (SC-A3L) is mounted on a ceilingmount bracket, it is turned upside down due to the installationangle. If this happens, turn offthe TV’s power, move the TV and subwoofer a little apart, wait 15to 30 minutes, then turn the TV’s power back on. The TV’sautomatic degaussing circuit should reduce the blotching on thepicture. If blotching persists, move the subwoofer and TV furtheraway from each other.• Install on a firm, flat floor to prevent accidents due to topplingdown.• Do not place a record player, CD player or other AV device on top ofthe subwoofer.Wall10cm/4inch or moreCAUTION:• To ensure safety, do not place any objects on top or lean objectsagainst the speaker system.• The speaker may topple down or fall if force is applied to thesides. Be particularly careful to avoid this, as this could causeinjury or other serious accidents.For heat dispersal, leave at least 10 cm/4 inch of space betweenthe top, back and sides of this unit and the wall or othercomponents.
