35Getting started Part namesand functions Connections Control functionSetting Defaults File and foldersettings Playback Information35Control f u n c t i o nVarious playback functions with RC-F400SPlayback from the main screenJog DialPower SwitchF1 - 4n Before playbackAfter connecting the DN-501C to the RC-F400S, turn thepower switch on for the respective devices.• The RC-F400S display shows the startup screen “DENONPROFESSIONAL”.• When the startup is completed, the file information is shown inthe display.n Play backPress 1/3.The button lights green and file playback starts.n PausePress 1/3 during playback or search modes.• 1/3 flashes during pause.• To restart playback, press 1/3.n CUEPress 20.n STOPPress 20 during cue.n Audible PausePress FRAME on the main screen.• Press FRAME on the main screen during playback or pause toswitch to the Audible Pause state.n Switching files (8/9)During playback or stop, rotate the jog dial.• Rotate clockwise to switch to the next file.• Rotate counterclockwise to switch to the beginning of the currentfile or the previous file.• To switch to the previous file, rotate the jog dial counterclockwisewithin one second from the start of file playback.n Fast forward or fast rewind (search)During playback, press 6 or 7.• Press 6 to perform fast rewind playback.• Press 7 to perform fast forward playback.• The fast forward/fast rewind speed changes in the order shownbelow each time the button is pressed.• CD-DA: x2, x5, x10, x20, x50• Others: x2, x10, x50, x100, x200• If the “Search Mode” settings in the “Preset Menu” of the DN-501Care set to “Normal”, sound is output when the search speed is 2x.Please note that sound is not output at search speeds above 2x.• After you fast forward to the end of the last file or fast rewind to thebeginning of the first file, the unit pauses.• When you fast rewind to the beginning of the file, the fast rewindoperation continues from the end point of the previous file.NOTE• When you perform search on a short file, the indicated speed maynot be available.• You cannot perform search on files that are recorded in VBR.• If searched files contain a VBR file, the search stops at that VBR file.n Jump by frames (Frame Accurate Search)Press 6 or 7 during Audible Pause.• Pressing 6 moves 1 frame in the reverse direction.• Pressing 7 moves 1 frame in the forward direction.n AUTO CUEAUTO CUE automatically detects the audio level and performs thecue operation.• When AUTO CUE is enabled, the playback mode display in theRC-F400S display shows .• The detected level is the set value for the preset menu “AutoCue” in DN-501C (vpage 15).• If the audio level is not detected for 20 seconds or more after theplayback for automatic detection of the audio level has started,the cue operation is performed at the beginning of the file.Downloaded From Disc-Player.com Denon Manuals
