SpeakerConnections Connections6ENGLISHImpedanceSpeaker connectionsConnect the speaker terminals with the speakersmaking sure that like polarities are matched (<with <, > with >).¢ Speaker impedanceNote on speaker impedanceWhen using speakers with an impedancebelow the designated value (for example 4Ω/ohms), playing for long periods of time withthe volume high could cause the temperatureto rise, activating the protection circuit. When the protection circuit is activated, theoutput to the speakers is cut off and the powerindicator blinks. If this happens, unplug thepower cord, wait for the set to cool off andimprove ventilation around the unit. Also checkthe wiring of the input cables and the speakercables. After doing this, plug the power cordback in and turn the unit’s power back on.If the protection circuit is activated again eventhough there are no problems with the wiring orthe ventilation around the unit, switch off thepower and contact a DENON service center.NOTE:When making connections, take care thatnone of the individual conductors of thespeaker cable come in contact with adjacentterminals, with other speaker cableconductors, or with the rear panel andscrews.NEVER touch the speaker terminals whenthe power is on. Doing so could result inelectric shocks.4 ~ 16 Ω/ohmsA, B8 ~ 16 Ω/ohmsA+BC CB> << >> << >IN(L) (R)(L) (R)¢ Connections• When making connections, also refer to the operating instructions of the other components.Connection terminal forsubwoofer with built-inamplifier.Speakers(A)Speakers(B)SubwooferConnecting a DVD player and monitor• Connect a non-DVD video disc player (such as a laser disc, VCD/SVCD, or future high definition discplayer) to the DVD/VDP terminals in the same way.RLAUDIO OUTVIDEOOUTVIDEOINDDRLRLADVD playerMonitorConnecting the speaker cables1.
