EON-TAWhen an RDS station is broadcasting RDS information on other stations with-in the same network and a traffic announcement begins on another station inthe same network based on this information (EON = Enhanced Other Net-work), that network station is automatically tuned in. The previous station istuned back in once the traffic announcement is over.Operation1. Inthe EON-TA mode, the station does not switch to another station in the net-work if the current station is broadcasting a traffic announcement.4. Since the RDS services offered differ from station to station, some RDS func-tions may not operate for some stations, but this is not a malfunction.9. Writing station namesYou can write in station names yourself.{Up to 8 characters)(Refer to the table of characters on page 12.)Operation1. Press the RDS button 4 times.2. Use the TUNER UP andDOWN buttons @ to selectthe desired characters.3. Use the SHIFT/PTY button@to move to the next place.4, After writing the entire stationname, store it in the memory.(refer to page 7.)DisplayFirst space flashes.First letter flashes.Specified place flashes.Each operation should be completed while the specified place is flashing.NOTE: This unit may not identify RDS stations as such if the paging station pro-vides multiple RDS data. Tuning may not stop at such stations during theRDS search and PTY search operations.RDS Emergency Alarm“ALARM" will flash on the display when the unit receives the Emergency Pro-gramme Type Code (PTY31) from an RDS station.This feature may not operate properly if the signal from the RDS station is tooweak or is subjected to interference.It is not possible to select the "ALARM" display from the PTY search mode.10. Clearing station names1. Recall the station name you want to clear.2. Press the RDS button 4 times until the character at the first place flashes.3. Then press the SHIFT/PTY button for at least 2 seconds. The current sta-tion name will then be cleared.Note: Station names must be stored in a preset memory to be retained. If thepower is turned off, or if the band (AM/FM) is changed, the stationname will be lost. Be sure to store the entered station name ina PresetMemory before changing the band or turning the power switch OFF.M.O.R.
