GETTING STARTEDBefore you start, please check that your iPod oriPhone is up to date. You can get the latest firmwareupdates via iTunes or the settings menu on yourdevice. If you use a USB device, please check theabove requirements.3. OPERATIONSwitch ON your car radio and select the ‘CD changer’source. This is usually done by pressing the CDC or CDbutton, or pressing the CD button twice. If in doubtconsult the audio section of your car’s manual.Connect your iPod or USB drive to the Gateway. Thefirst file on the device starts to play. If the Gatewayhas been used earlier, music will play from your iPodor USB from the point last played. If both are con-nected, the last used source will continue to play.Switching off the radio (or the ignition) will stopplayback and put the devices connected to standby.Next/Back and Random/Repeat/Scan buttons (radiodependent) work according to their usual function.If neither the iPod nor a USB drive is connected‘CD5/Track99’ is displayed with the counter running.4. ABOUT SOURCESiPodTwo operation modes are available:iPod User Interface (iPod UI)iPod Gateway Interface (iPod GW)In iPod UI mode the original user interface of theiPod remains active (i.e. the click wheel still works) soyou can use it for browsing normally.During playback the Radio displays CD5. The showntrack numbers and time counter are not synchro-nized with the iPod. We recommend the use of thismode if you want original iPod functionality.In iPod GW mode the click wheel or the touch screenis disabled2, the iPod displays the currently playedsong information. (On iPod touch and iPhone the‘Accessory attached’ message will be displayed only.)iPod playback control is possible only from the carstereo (Head Unit or steering wheel). In this modethe track number and the time is displayed on theradio display (Radio dependent).2Please note that on iPod touch and iPhone running iOS 6 ornewer the ‘GW mode’ does not disable UI control or normaldisplay.CD buttons have the following functions in differentiPod modes:CD# iPod GW iPod UICD1 1st playlist -CD2 2nd playlist -CD3 3rd playlist -CD4 4th playlist -CD5 Play All parking discCD6 Set iPod UI mode Set iPod GW modeDuring Playback you can select next or previousplaylist by pressing the FF or REW ( / ) functionbutton on the Head Unit (device dependent).Dension also offers an optional dash-mount cradle todock your iPod safely (not included).The iPod is being charged while connected to Gate-way Lite BT (including Lightning Adapter connection).USBIf a USB drive is connected, the Gateway will startplaying back in ‘Play All’ mode. If the Gateway hasbeen used earlier, music will play from your USBdrive from the point last played.You can choose Folders (assigned in alphabeticallyorder) stored in the root directory by using the CDselection buttons.CD# FunctionCD1 1st FolderCD2 2nd FolderCD3 3rd FolderCD4 4th FolderCD5 Play AllCD6 unused discDuring playback the Radio displays ‘CD’ and the tracknumber with the time elapsed of the current track(Radio dependent). When CD1 through CD4 is select-ed, you can jump to the next or previous subfolderusing the FF/REW ( / ) buttons. In ‘Play All’ modeall Folders/Subfolders can be reached and selectedusing the FF or REW function buttons. |
