7104163OWNER’S MANUALTROUBLESHOOTING1. Check voltage to electrical outlet. If volt-age is good, check heater power cord forbreaks2. Adjust motor/fan guard to keep fan fromhitting inside of heater shell. Bend fanguard if necessary3. Replace fan. See Fan, page 94. Replace motor. See Motor, page 81. Repeat installation and operation in-structions. See Installation, page 4 andOperation, page 52. A) Check ignitor wire. Tighten or reat-tach loose ignitor wire. See Figure14, page 10 for ignitor wire locationB) Set gap between ignitor electrode andtarget plate to .17"C) Tighten nut holding piezo ignitor tobase of heaterD) Replace ignitor electrode. SeeIgnitor, page 101. This can happen when running heater intemperatures above 85°F. Run heater incooler temperatures2 Check heater inlet and outlet. Removeany obstructions3. Replace fan. See Fan, page 94. Clean heater. See Maintenance, page 6Fan does not turn when heater is plugged in.Heater will not ignite.Heater shuts down while running.OBSERVED FAULT POSSIBLE CAUSE REMEDYWARNING: Never service heater while it is plugged in, connectedto propane supply, operating, or hot. Severe burns and electricalshock can occur.1. No electrical power to heater2. Fan hitting inside of heater shell3. Fan blades bent4. Defective motor1. User did not follow installation or op-eration instructions properly2. No spark at ignitor. To test for spark, fol-low step 8 under Ignitor, page 10. If yousee spark at ignitor, have heater servicedby qualified service person. If no sparkseen:A) Loose or disconnected ignitor wireB) Wrong spark gapC) Piezo ignitor looseD) Bad ignitor electrode1. High surrounding air temperature caus-ing thermal limit device to shut downheater2. Restricted air flow3. Damaged fan4.
