Pipe sectionsmust be assembled independently as chimneyis installed. When connecting chimney directlyto fireplace, inner flue pipe section must beinstalled first with lanced side up. Outer pipesection can then be installed over flue pipesection with hemmed end up. Press downon each pipe section until lances securelyengage hem on fireplace starter. Wire willassure proper spacing between inner andouter pipe sections.Continue to assemble chimney sections asoutlined above, making sure both inner andouter pipe sections are locked together. Wheninstalling double wall snap-lock chimney to-gether, it is important to assure joint betweenchimney sections is locked. Check by pullingchimney upward after locking. Chimney willnot come apart if properly locked. It is notnecessary to add screws to keep chimneytogether (exception, see Figure 9, page 8).Figure 5 - Outside Air KitSecure to Collars with Metal Tape, Screwsor Straps (Min. of 1/4" x 20" in size)Air InletLocationMust AllowFor Bushesor SnowVent HoodRequired forWall InstallationAir InletEyebrowVented Crawl Space(Check Local CodesBefore Installing in aVented Crawl Space)CAUTION: Combustion airinlet ducts shall not terminatein attic space. The maximum height for theair vent can not exceed 3 feetbelow the flue gas outlet of thetermination.CHIMNEY PIPEDESA Heating, LLC chimney system consistsof 12", 18", 24", 36"' and 48" snap-lock, double-wall pipe segments, planned for maximumadaptability to individual site requirements.Actual lengths gained after fitting overlaps mustbe taken into consideration (lineal gain) and aregiven in lineal gain chart (see Figure 6). Linealgain is the actual measurable length of a partafter two or more parts are connected. ForCanada, use chimney parts designated "HT".WARNING: The opening in thecollar around the chimney at thetop of the fireplace must not beobstructed. Never use blown insula-tion to fill the chimney enclosure.installationContinued
