You must provide two permanent open-ings: one within 12" (30.5 cm) of the ceiling andone within 12" (30.5 cm) of the floor. Connectthese items directly to the outdoors or spacesopen to the outdoors. These spaces include atticsand crawl spaces. Follow the National Fuel GasCode, ANSI Z223.1/NFPA 54, Section 5.3, Air forCombustion and Ventilation for required size ofventilation grills or ducts.IMPORTANT: Do not provide openings for inletor outlet air into attic if attic has a thermostat-controlled power vent. Heated air entering the atticwill activate the power vent.Figure 2 - Ventilation Air from InsideBuildingFigure 3 - Ventilation Air from OutdoorsINSTALLATIONNOTICE: This heater is intendedfor use as supplemental heat.Use this heater along with yourprimary heating system. Do notinstall this heater as your pri-mary heat source. If you have acentral heating system, you mayrun system’s circulating blowerwhile using heater. This will helpcirculate the heat throughout thehouse. In the event of a poweroutage, you can use this heateras your primary heat source.WARNING: A qualified ser-vice person must install heater.Follow all local codes.CHECK GAS TYPEUse only the correct type of gas (natural or pro-pane/LP). If your gas supply is not the correct gastype, do not install heater. Call dealer where youbought heater for proper type heater.WARNING: This applianceis equipped for (natural or pro-pane/LP) gas.
