To clean these parts we recommend usingcompressed air no greater than 30 PSI. Your localcomputer store, hardware store or home centermay carry compressed air in a can. If using com-pressed air in a can, please follow the directionson the can. If you don't follow directions on thecan, you could damage the pilot assembly.1. Shut off unit, including pilot. Allow unit tocool for at least thirty minutes.2. Inspect burner, pilot for dust and dirt.3. Blow air through the ports/slots and holesin the burner.4. Never insert objects into the pilot tube.Clean the pilot assembly also. A yellow tip onthe pilot flame indicates dust and dirt in thepilot assembly. There is a small pilot air inletabout 2" from where the pilot flame comes outFigure 30 - Pilot Air InletPilot AssemblyPilot Air InletCABINETAir PassagewaysUse pressurized air to clean.ExteriorUse a soft cloth dampened with a mild soapand water mixture. Wipe the cabinet to re-move dust.of the pilot assembly (see Figure 30). Withthe unit off, lightly blow air through the airinlet. You may blow through a drinking strawif compressed air is not available.
