Loose wiring connections2. Construction debris clogging the pilot and/or gas control valve filterOBSERVED PROBLEMIgnitor will not spark or pilotwill not lightPilot will not stay litNo gas to burner, although wallswitch and valve are set to theON positionPOSSIBLE CAUSE1. No gas supply or shutoffvalve is OFF2. Air in gas line3. Construction debris clog-ging pilot orifice4. Low gas pressure5. Kinked pilot line6. Control valve knob is notopening7. No power to unit or theignition module or powertransformer is bad8. Vent damper not fullyopen1. Loose wiring on ignitorwire to ignition moduleand/or poor ground to igni-tion module2. Pilot flame too low tosense1. Wall switch wires defectiveor too long2. Thermopile not generatingsufficient voltageREMEDY1. Check to see if you have gassupply and that equipmentshutoff valve is opened2. Repeat lighting procedureseveral times to purge all airout of lines. If after repeatedattempts appliance doesnot light, call for qualifiedservice and repair3. Remove debris and dirt, inspect and clean any otherpossible obstructions4. Contact your gas supplierto check pressure5. Have a qualified technicianreplace pilot line6. Replace control valve (re-fer to Replacement Parts, page 20)7. Check that main power ison and that all wire connec-tions are made correctly toignition model (see WiringDiagram, page 21). Checkfor 24 VAC at the secondaryside of transformer. If 24VAC is present and moduledoes not operate, havemodule replaced otherwisehave transformer replaced8. Open vent damper until fullylocked in OPEN position1. Check wiring connection. Re-fer to wiring diagram, page21, and/or check ground wireto ignition module2. Clean and adjust pilot burn-er and check gas supplyand inlet pressure to unitNote: Have a qualified tech-nician replace pilot assem-bly if broken or corroded1. Check electrical connec-tions2. Recheck problems 1 and 2
