Other standards governthe use of fuel gases and heating productsfor specific uses. Your local authority canadvise you about these. The primary pur-pose of construction heaters is to providetemporary heating of buildings under con-struction, alteration or repair. Properly used,the heater provides safe economical heat-ing. Products of combustion are vented intothe area being heated.We cannot foresee every use which may bemade of our heaters. Check with your localfire safety authority if you have questionsabout heater use.Other standards govern the use of fuel gasesand heat producing products for specificuses. Your local authorities can advise youabout these.Carbon Monoxide Poisoning: Somepeople are more affected by carbon monox-ide than others. Inthe absence of local ordinances andcodes, refer to the Standard for Stor-age and Handling of Liquefied Petro-leum Gas, ANSI/NFPA 58 and the Natu-ral Gas Installation Code, CAN/CGAB149.2. This instructs on the safe stor-age and handling of propane gases.• Use only the electrical voltage and fre-quency specified on model plate.• The electrical connections and ground-ing of the heater shall follow the 0• Electrical grounding instructions —This appliance is equipped with a three-prong (grounding) plug for your pro-tection against shock hazard and shouldbe plugged directly into a properlygrounded three-prong receptacle.• Use only a three-prong, grounded ex-tension cord.• Use only the hose and factory presetregulator provided with the heater.• Use only propane gas set up for vaporwithdrawal.• Provide adequate ventilation. Before us-ing heater, provide at least a 0.28 m2 (3ft.2) opening of fresh, outside air for each100,000 Btu/Hr of rating. This heater pro-duces carbon monoxide, which is listedby the State of California as a reproduc-tive toxin under Proposition 65.• For indoor use only. Do not use heateroutdoors.• Do not use heater in occupied dwell-ings or in living or sleeping quarters.• Do not use heater below ground level.Propane gas is heavier than air. If a leakoccurs, propane gas will sink to thethese signs, the heater may not be workingproperly. Get fresh air at once! Check forproper ventilation and have heater serviced.lowest possible level.• Keep appliance area clear and free fromcombustible materials, gasoline, paintthinner, and other flammable vaporsand liquids. Do not use a damaged heater.• Check hose before each use of heater.If highly worn or cut, replace beforeusing heater.• Locate heater on stable and level sur-face if heater is hot or operating.• Not intended for use on finished floors.• Never block air inlet (rear) or air outlet(front) of heater.• Keep heater away from strong drafts,water spray, rain, or dripping water.• Do not leave heater unattended.• Keep children and animals away fromheater.• Never move, handle, or service a hot,operating, or plugged-in heater. Severeburns may result. Wait 20 minutes af-ter turning heater off.• To prevent injury, wear gloves whenhandling heater.• Never attach duct work to heater.• Do not alter heater. Keep heater in itsoriginal state.• Do not use heater if altered.• Turn off propane supply and unplugheater when not in use.• Use only original replacement parts.This heater must use design-specificparts. Do not substitute or use genericparts. Improper replacement parts couldcause serious or fatal injuries. |
