Provide propane supply system (seePropane Supply, page 3).2. Connect fuel gas fitting on hose/regula-tor assembly to propane tank(s). Turn fuelgas fitting counterclockwise into threadson tank. Tighten firmly using a wrench.IMPORTANT: Position regulator so thathose leaving the regulator is in a hori-zontal position (see Figure 3). This placesthe regulator vent in the proper positionto protect it from the weather.WARNING: Test all gas pip-ing and connections for leaksafter installation or servicing.Never use an open flame to checkfor a leak. Apply a mixture ofliquid soap and water to all joints.Bubbles forming show a leak.Correct all leaks at once.KnobTHEORY OFOPERATIONCombustion ChamberThe Fuel System: The hose/regulatorassembly attaches to the propane gas sup-ply. This provides fuel to the heater. The Air System: The motor turns the fan.The fan pushes air into and around thecombustion chamber. This air is heated andprovides a stream of clean, hot air.The Ignition System: The piezo ignitorlights the burner. The Automatic Control System: Thissystem causes the heater to shut down if theflame goes out.MotorWARNING: Never use an openflame to check for a leak. Apply amixture of liquid soap and waterto all joints. Bubbles formingshow a leak that must be cor-rected. Open propane supply valve on propanetank(s) slowly.Note: If not openedslowly, excess-flow check valve on pro-pane tank may stop gas flow. If thishappens, close propane supply valveand open again slowly.5. Check all connections for leaks. Applymixture of liquid soap and water to gasjoints.
